Finance Director, Town of Burrillville, RI

The Town of Burrillville is seeking an experienced Finance Director. The Finance Director reports directly to the Town Manager, and must work effectively with the Town Council, Department Heads, and representatives of other governmental jurisdictions, taxpayers, and staff.

Key responsibilities include managing the receipt and disbursement of all funds, controlling expenditures to ensure budget appropriations are not exceeded, preparing the annual budget and comprehensive annual financial report, coordinating and structuring bond issues, purchasing and contract management, and internal auditing of revenue and expenditures.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area. CPA, advanced degree, and/or certification (CGFO, Certified Government Finance Officer or CGFM, Certified Government Finance Manager) as well as previous experience as a local government Finance Director, is preferred.
